May 15-Edward N Air of Newport Ky. pleaded guilty to the charge of embezzlement before Judge Barr, in the United States court Thursday. He was registry clerk in the Newport post office. Judge Barr deferred sentence until December and released Air on $5000 bond. His friends are already active in Washington in his behalf, endeavoring to secure his pardon.

Services for Edward N Air, 77, of 3 Ohio avenue, Ft Thomas, will be held at 10 am Monday at the Smith funeral home, Newport. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Cincinnati. Mr. Air, a retired employee of the purchasing department of the New York Central Railroad died Thursday at St Elizabeth Hospital, Covington.

He was a vestryman at St Paul Episcopal Church, Newport. He was born in Newport and had lived the past 20 years in Ft Thomas. His father, the late Capt. Edward Air operated a ferry between Newport and Cincinnati for many years. Mr. Air leaves his widow, Mrs. Anna Bromwell; a son, James V E Air, Youngstown O. and a grandson.
