Magistrate Sherman Thomas, of the Fourth Magisterial District,
received intelligence yesterday that his brother, Edward Thomas, had been killed
at East Liberty, near Pittsburg, Penn. The telegram was very brief and did
not say how Thomas met his death. the dead man was a son of Harvey Thomas.
he left Newport several years ago and located at Pittsburg where he prospered
and became one of the influential men of the county, being at one time candidate
for County Assessor.
At the time of his death he was employed as foreman for a contractor named Evans. At a late hour last night, Magistrate had received no additional details as to his brother's death.
SPECIAL DISPATCH TO THE ENQUIRER-Pittsburg Penn. November 8-Ewaard Thomas, 45, was killed by a traction car, on Frankstown avenue and Broad street, last night at 8:37 o'clock. He had been fooling with some friends and started to cross the street when struck. His brother, H S Thomas of Ft Thomas, Ky. will have the body shipped there for burial.

NEWPORT
The remains of Ed Thomas, brother of Squire Sherman Thomas, who
was killed by a trolley car near Pittsburg, arrived here yesterday and were
taken in charge by Funeral Director William C Betz.
The funeral will take place this afternoon, with services at Squire Thomas' residence in the Highlands. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
