Kentucky Post, Wednesday, 26 January 1938, page 1
Funeral services for Edgar Simmons, 40, a World War veteran and former game warden in Campbell county, are being completed today by the William C Betz Sons, Newport funeral directors. Simmons ended his life early Tuesday by taking poison. He was removed from the Monmouth street cafe to Speers Hospital by the Newport Life Squad, but was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
A note in his pocket indicated he was despondent because of ill health and directed county police to notify Harry Stuary, who was to notify his widow, Mrs. Ida Simmons, Cold Spring. Besides his widow he leaves three children.
