Attached by a Negro thug early Monday at the Newport end of the Veterans Memorial Bridge, Eberhard Sandheger, 42, of 321 Retreat street, Bellevue, told police he was robbed of $12 and his Army discharge papers. The victim said the Negro attacked him from the rear and beat him with a blunt instrument.
Mr. Sandheger sustained scalp lacerations as the result of the attack.
