Colonel David Perry
Information comes from research done by Margaret S Hartman and
is on file at the Campbell County Historical Society
David Perry was a Virginian born about 1760 and with his brother Samuel Perry, settled in Campbell County in the early 1790's. Virginia deed books record that Perry received a grant of 1200 acres of land across across Kentucky on the Ohio River opposite the Columbia on September 6, 1787.
In a deposition given October 18, 1818 by Robert Patterson in Maysville, he stated that David Perry was with him when they came into Kentucky at Salt Lick Creek (now Vanceburg, Lewis Co Ky.) in Nov 1775. The exact date of his death is unknown but he died prior to December 1800. It is assumed that he was buried on the family property. That area is today Ft. Thomas.
