The Court met this 2nd February 1796 pursuant to adjournment at the house of
Jacob Fowler in Newport.

James Miller Jun
Henry Brasher & James McClure are joined with the Commissioners empowered to contract for the building of a Jail &c & it is ordered that any three of the said Commissioners may act in the absence of the rest.
Thomas McCollom is appointed overseer of the Road from his Tavern to the Top of the Hill above Ellison Williams's in the room of Robert Kyle.
On the motion of James McClelland It is ordered that a License be granted to him to Keep a Tavern in this County for one year the said James having with Jacob Fowler his Security entered into and acknowledged Bond according to Law.
Ordered that it be certified that Jacob Fowler Deputy Sheriff for keeping Live Stock taken upon an Execution against Jones at the Suit of Back issued from Scott County be allowed 3-4-0. James McClure is appointed Overseer of the Streets in Newport ordered that the Male labouring Titheables of Newport do attend & assist the Said Overseer in clearing & repairing the Said Streets when required.
The Persons appointed to lay off the road from Newport to the widow Perrys made their Report in these records. "Pursuant to an order of the worshipful Court of Campbell County to us directed We the subscribers have proceeded to lay off & mark out a Road from Newport to the widow Perrys in the following manner. Beginning at the Cross Street by Benhams Wall thence along by the Out Lot occupied by Thomas Sargeant & from thence by J. Taylors Mill Seat thence along the left hand fork of Duck Creek to the head thereof thence across the ridge by Jacob Millers then through the widow Perrys Meadow & so to the River which Road we think may be made tolerably good. Page 36-On consideration whereof it is ordered that the Said Road be established agreeable to the Report that John Spencer act as Overseer of the same, that the Male labouring Titheables of Newport do attend and assist the said Overseer in clearing and repairing the said Road as far as where it will first strike Duck Creek after leaving the Mill Seat and that the Male labouring Titheables on the ohio above Caldwells up to three Mile do attend & assist him in clearing & repairing the remainder of the same as often as required.
James Miller Junr, John Miller, William Montgomery or any three of them are appointed Viewers to mark out the nearest & best way from the Mouth of Wills's Creek to intersect the Grassey Creek Road & to make a report thereon.
A Deed from Isaac Pruit to John Roberts certified as to witnesses John Martin & William Martin and ordered to be certified. Ordered that this Court be adjourned till Court in course. Signed Thomas Kennedy
