Conyers White Jr. was born in Orange County, Virginia, the son of Conyers White who was born and died in Orange County. When a young man he came to Alexandria and married in August 1804 Sarah Spilman, daughter of Frank Spilman and Rebecca Erskine. He kept a tavern on the place where the Baptist parsonage now stands (1946) on the Alexandria Pike. Sarah was born 1 Jan 1787 and died 6 Mar 1855 in Alexandria and was buried in the old Baptist cemetery.

Henry Erskine White born and died in Alexandria, married Elizabeth Jane Carel 5 Nov 1840. She was born 18 Apr 1820 and died 17 May 1895. They were married in the old Thatcher home of the Pike at the same time as their cousins Edward K Spilman and Rosanna Baker. When they started in housekeeping they lived in a log cabin which stood in the garden north of the house which belonged to Thomas Wilhite. This house was opposite to "High View Farm" down the lane. Until they were able to complete their new home they lived in the little log cabin. They moved to Indianapolis twice, but came back. Each time they made the trip in a covered wagon, and one of the times drove a team of oxen. They last time they moved back to Alexandria was in 1852.
