Saturday night George Brill, Socialist candidate for Congress,
will speak at the Cold Spring Seminary on the principles of Socialism.
Wednesday evening at the schoolhouse a large crowd turned out to witness the spelling match between two picked sides. Misses Blanche Thatcher and Ethel Horner captained the two opposing sides with the following supporters:
Miss Horner, Mrs. G W Ragan, Miss Bessie Youtsey, Howard Payne, Julia Robinson, Anna Fehr and Yandall Ragan; Miss Thatcher, Dr. G W Ragan, A J Youtsey, Nannie Horner, Thomas North, John Dean and Robert Riggall.
Two tests were made, the latter side winning after hard and long fought contest.
