Cliff
N Anderson
Kentucky Post, 3 February 1910, page 3
The will of Cliff N Anderson, late Color Sergeant, Fourteenth US Infantry, whose death occurred some months ago in the Philippine Islands, was probated today in the Campbell co. Court. The will was proven by documents from the Treasury Department at Washington DC and a tracing of the decedent's signature, which was secured from B F Harper, one of the auditors of the army department and taken from the pay rolls of the army signed by Anderson.
The will provides that the $700 amount due from the United States is to go to the decedent's brother, Andrew N Anderson, Sergeant Company E, Second Infantry, now stationed at Ft Thomas. The balance of decedent's estate is also to go to Sergt. Andrew Anderson. The amount due from the Government will be paid upon the administration furnishing a bond of $1500.
Anderson was killed in a recent typhoon on the islands and under a rule of the War Department all enlisted men must file a copy of their wills while in the discharge of their duties. The original copy of the will made by Anderson was also produced in Judge Hawkins court and made a part of the record. This is the first of its kind that has been probated in Campbell co.
