MRS. CLARA V. HOOD
Newport Woman Was Member of Four Organizations
Mrs. Clara V. Hood, 420 East Third Street, Newport, died yesterday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, after an illness of 15 weeks. Mrs. Hood, who was 69 years old had been a resident of Campbell County all her life.
Mrs. Hood was a member of Brighton Council No. 10, Daughters of America, Newport; Independent Order of Shepherds No. 3, Cincinnati; Ladies’ Auxiliary of Dayton Aerie of Eagles, and Ladies’ Auxiliary of Rankin-Prout Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Newport.
A son, Edward Johnson, with whom she lived; a sister, Mrs. Tillie Gaston, Cincinnati; and three brothers, Dr. Lawrence Spitzelberger, Dayton, Ky and Frank & Leo Spitzelberger, both of Newport survive her.
Services will be conducted at the Vonderhaar and Stetter funeral home, Newport, at 2 o’clock tomorrow.
Members of the Auxiliary of Rankin-Prout will conduct services for Mrs. Hood at 8:30 o’clock tomorrow night at the funeral home. Mrs. Hood was the mother-in-law of Mrs. Madeline Johnson, President of the Auxiliary.
