GRIEF IS BLAMED

 

Grief over the passing of her husband, Anthony Bengel, last July, is believed to have caused the death of Mrs. Christina Bengel, 70.   Mrs. Bengel died Monday morning at 5:30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Della Apple, 417 W. 21st Street, Covington.  She had been ill for 6 months.

Born in Germany; Mrs Bengel had been a resident of Newport 48 years.  She had been a member of St Stephen’s Church, Newport 45 years.  She was also a member of St Anthony’s Ladies’ Society and St Joseph’s Orphans’ Society of the church. Mrs Bengel was a sister of the late Otto Federle, former saloon-keeper of Newport.  She is survived by three sons, Albert, Joseph and William Bengel, all of Newport;  two daughters, Mrs Apple & Mrs. Anthony Schuster, 3109 Latonia Ave, Covington.  She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kleinhans and Mrs. B. Brunner, both of Germany.

Funeral services, which have not yet been completed, are in charge of John J. Radel, Newport undertaker.  Burial will be in St Stephen’s Cemetery, Newport
