NEWPORT
FOUND DEAD IN BED-A man named Christopher Dilling, a tailor by
trade, residing on Chestnut street, between Patterson and Brighton, was found
dead in his bed yesterday morning. He retired with his children the night
before in apparent good health.
Deceased had been somewhat dissipated since the death of his wife, which occurred four or five months ago. Esquire Payne summoned a jury and held an inquest upon the body. The verdict was that he came to his death from apoplexy. Dilling leaves several children.
