SEEK TO FIND ABANDONED CAR
Campbell County authorities were investigating Monday circumstances surrounding the fatal injury of a Highland Heights man who is believed bo have been the victim of a hit-skip motorist Saturday night.
The victim, Chris Saner, 64, of Miller avenue, died Sunday at Speers Hospital of a skull fracture. He was removed to the hospital by Campbell County Patrolmen Howard Pryse and Wallace Barker after he was found unconscious on Alexandria pike near Renshaw road.
VERDICT WITHHELD
George Benz, chief of Campbell County Police, was investigating an abandoned auto which was found on Licking Pike three miles south of Newport early Monday. The front of the car was reported damaged.
Dr. Leo Sauter, Campbell county coroner, said his verdict in the
death would be given after a full investigation had been made. Police said Mr.
Saner was found by a soldier driving an auto bearing Indiana license. However,
he left the scene before he could be questioned.
SERVICES ARRANGED
Requiem High Mass for Mr. Saner will be sung at St. Joseph’s Church, Cold Spring, at 9 a.m. Wednesday, following prayers at the John J. Radel funeral home, Newport, at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Cold Spring.
He leaves a son, William Saner, Cold Spring; four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Vessing, Mrs. Frank R. Goetz and Mrs. John Long, all of Cold Spring; and Mrs. Lena Correll, Cincinnati; nine grandchildren; one brother, Adam Saner, Bellevue; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Pirrman, Newport.
