W Welch
Charles W Welch was born Oct 1846 in Ohio. He enlisted in the Union Army 9 Aug 1862 in Covington. He served as a private in Co G 10th Kentucky Cavalry and was discharged in Maysville Ky. 13 Sep 1863.

The body of Charles Welch, who died in Washington DC was received in Newport Thursday morning and taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. A J Thorman, 664 Nelson pl. Welch was for many years a collector on the L&N Bridge. He was a charter member of the Eagles and William Nelson Post, GAR.
He is survived by Mrs. Thorman and a son, C J Welch of St Louis Mo.
