NEWPORT
Charles Remme, well known citizen of Newport, prominent Elk and
head of the Queen City Watch Case Company, with offices on Sixth street, near
Vine, died yesterday at his home on Third street, near York, in Newport, after a
lingering illness. Cirrhosis of the liver was the direct cause of death.
Mr. Remme, who was a brother of the late Edward C Remme, at one time Cashier of the German National Bank, had a large circle of friends in Cincinnati and Newport who will mourn his loss. He was single and made his home with his sister, Miss Lucy Remme, who is librarian of the Public Library.
The lodge of Elks will hold a special meeting to take action on his death.
