The bodies of 11 northern Kentucky war heroes, who lost their lives in the European Theater of Operations, are being returned to the US aboard the Army transport Haiti Victory, the Department of the Army announced Monday.
Northern Kentucky and their next of kin: Pvt Charles M Jackson Jr., Mrs. Katherine Jackson, 459 Washington avenue, Bellevue.

Services will be held at 10 am Thursday at the Dobbling funeral home, Bellevue, for Pvt. Charles M Jackson Jr. 459 Washington avenue, Bellevue, former assistant editor of the Billboard. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The body of Pvt. Jackson, who was killed in action at St Lo France, Aug 7, 1944, was returned from overseas to Bellevue, where it arrived Mondy. A member of the infantry, he was 34.
Pvt. Jackson was a graduate of Bellevue High School and had attended the University of Cincinnati prior to entering the service. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles M Jackson Sr.; his widow, Mrs. B Caroline Jackson Whitehead and two sisters, Mrs. Olive Eilers and Mrs. Ruth Bauer, both of Bellevue. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 pm Wednesday.
