Charles R. Martin, 72, of Erlanger, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South. He retired as maintenance supervisor at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati and formerly served as a scout leader for Troop No. 67 in Dayton. An Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. He was wounded near Caserta, Italy. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Blind Veterans Association and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellevue. Survivors include his wife, Anna Evans Martin; a daughter, Judith Woods of Newport; sons, Richard Martin of Ft. Lauder dale, Darrel Martin of Morehead and Kenneth Martin of Erlanger; sisters, Florence Diedenhofer of Bellevue, Betty McCarty of Chicago, JoAnn McCaughan of Florence and Dorothy Bohnert of Covington; brothers, John Mar tin of Visalia and Robert Martin of Alexandria; and eight grand- children.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be there from 5 to 9 tonight. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
