NEWPORT

CONFEDERATE ARMY-The National troops, when they took possession of New Madrid, Mo. recently found the dead body of Charles Logan, a citizen of Newport, who left here last summer for the Southern army.

He was shot through the head, it is supposed by accident.  He was buried by the Union soldiers who erected a suitable head board to mark his last resting place.
