Cpl. Charles Land, twice wounded veteran of the Korean war, has
arrived in San Francisco from Korea and is expected to be on furlough with his
mother, Mrs. Ollie Land, 419 York street, Newport, within the next two weeks.
Cpl. Land entered the armed forces four years ago and served eight months with
the Polar Bear Division in Korea.
He was twice wounded in action and has been decorated with the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and three Clusters in recognition for his bravery in action.
