The general order designating Brigadier General Charles L Hodges as Department Commander, Vice General Fred Grant, was received here yesterday. General Grant goes to the Department of the East.

General Hodges arose from the ranks and those who have soldiered with him in the Philippines speak of him in the highest terms.
