LAWYER RAISON CLAIMED
After an illness of three weeks, Charles L Raison Jr. 60,
prominent lawyer, politician, lodge man and citizen of Newport, died shortly
after 11 o'clock this morning at this home, Sixth and Overton streets. The
deceased was a descendent of the French nobility and was born in Greenup co. Ky.
He is survived by a widow, who is prominent in woman's club affairs and a writer
of some note. A son, Dr. Thomas W Raison, is a surgeon in the United States
Navy, and a daughter, Miss Elizabeth Raison, holds a position in the
Congressional Library at Washington DC.
Col. Raison took an active part in Campbell co. Republican affairs and was a stanch admirer of United States Senator Bradley. He was a close personal friend of the late Albert S Berry and recently formed a law partnership with ex-Circuit Clerk Hub Schwartz of Dayton, with offices in the German National Bank Building, Newport.
The funeral arrangements have not been completed. Col. Raison was a member of Newport Lodge of Elks, Masons, Knights of Pythias and other secret societies.
