The resignation of Miss Catherine Lamb, Secretary of the Newport Civilian Defense Council, submitted to City Manager J B Morlidge, will become effective Jan 1. The defense office is to be disbanded after Jan 1, but the organization will remain in effect for some time to come, Jacob Swope, defense co-coordinator said. All activities of the council will be suspended but periodical meetings will be continued.
Miss Lamb, who is also a member of the Campbell County bar, announced she was to be married to Lieut. Robert L Harrington, Army Air Forces, Maxwell Field, Ala. The marriage will be performed at Maxwell Field early next year.

Miss Catherine D Lamb, Newport attorney and member of the Campbell County Bar Association became the bride of 1st Lt. Robert L Harrington in a high noon ceremony on New Year's Day (1944) at the post chapel, Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Ala.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Courtney Lamb, Newport and was graduated from Western College, Oxford O. and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Prior to her marriage she was a practicing attorney in Newport and Cincinnati. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, National Association of Women Lawyers, Kentucky State Bar Association, Cincinnati Women Lawyers Club and Phi Delta Delta National Women's Legal Fraternity.
