DEATH
Casimer Knecht, died yesterday morning at his home, 531 East
Third street, Newport, of pneumonia; About seven years ago he suffered a stroke
of paralysis, but was able to be driven around in a carriage until recently. He
was 74 years of age and had been a resident of this city nearly all his life.
He has been engaged in the building trade and real estate business for nearly half a century. He was a charter member of the German Pioneer Society and also of William Tell Lodge of Odd Fellows.
He served several terms in the City Council and was for many years a member of the Board of Directors of Evergreen Cemetery. He is survived by a family of adult children. The funeral will take place next Monday afternoon with services at Evergreen Chapel.

The funeral of Casimer Knecht, well known contractor, whose death occurred Thursday, will take place tomorrow afternoon. Services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery chapel.
