A crack down on traffic regulation violators, particularly those who park cars facing the wrong way, was agreed upon at a special meeting of Dayton Council and members of the Police and Fire Departments Friday night. The meeting was called by Mayor Carl Wenderoth to clear up differences among police, firemen and Council members.

One hundred and sixty-one parking meters will be installed in Dayton as soon as possible by the Michaels Art Bronze Co, Council agreed by a 4-3 vote Tuesday night. Mayor Carl Wenderoth cast the deciding vote after Council deadlocked, 3-3.

Marshall Granger, chairman of the Committee for the Betterment of Dayton Schools, failed last night to induce Dayton Council to discuss measures for the improvement of the Dayton school system. Mayor Carl Wenderoth told him such matters would have to be discussed in private.

At a time when Kroger operated six stores in Dayton Ky. Carl Wenderoth, a butcher in one of them was considered the best in town. He doubled as the mayor and contended with citizens calling because their trash hadn't been picked up and banging on his door to demand street repairs. Mr. Wenderoth 87, died of complications from a fall Saturday at St Elizabeth North Hospice.

Wenderoth began his civic career in the mid 30s when he joined the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department. He spent eight years on City Council before running for mayor. Services are private. Burial is at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate.
