Saint Joseph Catholic Church-Four Mile Creek.  As early as 1842 Catholic families had settled in the section of southern Campbell County which as originally knows as "Four Mile Creek" and later as Camp Springs.  Available records would seem to indicate that the first group of Catholics in the area, consisting of six families, was from Austria and Southern Bavaria.  Priests of Holy Trinity Parish came from Cincinnati and they encouraged the building of a church.
Mr. Peter Steffen donated a half acre of ground and the congregation bought another half for a dollar.  The foundation of the Church was laid in the early fall of 1845.  During the winter months of December through February 1845, 46 logs were hauled together and hewn.  The log church, 35' by 50', was completed in May 1846, and dedicated to Saint Joseph.  This was the second church to be erected in Campbell County.  The original church stood near the foot of the on which the present church stands.  The site now includes Saint Joseph Cemetery. in 1851 Saint Joseph became the second established parish in Campbell County after being a mission to Corpus Christi Newport since 1846.  The present church was dedicated June 15, 1865.  During the restoration of 1909, three large paintings were painted by Leon Lippert in the sanctuary.
