The said applicant served in the capacity of a private soldier in the company under the command of Captain Adam in the 4th Regiment of Infantry of the United States. He enlisted in the year 1808 in the state of Massachusetts. A certificate dated February 12, 1815 at the General Hospital in Charleston was signed by Benjamin Watehaife?. It stated that the said Caleb Critchert had served in the company under the command of N Adams in the 4th Regiment of the United States of America Infantry. It said that he had been wounded November 11, 1811 at the Battle of Tippecanoe and as a result of the wounds was at least one half disabled.
In a certificate dated November 23, 1813 in Boston, Massachusetts, it stated that Caleb Critchet was at the age of 25 years, five feet and 9 inches in height, light complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and was a carpenter by trade. He had been honorably discharged after serving for a period of five years. It also stated that he was a prisoner of war.
The said applicant Caleb Critchet was on the Massachusetts Roll of Pensions at the rate of $2.50 per month commenced on November 24, 1813 and his certificate of pension for that amount was issued on January 20, 1816 and sent to Joseph Sadler.
