Alexandria Court Order Book A, page 143 12 February 1798
The persons appointed to view and mark out the road from Bulletsburgh to intersect the Road leading from Bushes Ferry towards Reeds, reported it marked out as follows beginning at Bulletsburgh at Lot No 168 running thence South nearly to the foot of the hill thence along the foot of the Hill into the road leading from Bushes Ferry towards Reeds and that the same would be convenient on consideration wherof it is ordered that the said Road be established agreeable to said Report that Cave Johnson act as Surveyor thereof and that he be attended with his own hands and those living in the Town to assist him in cutting out and when requisite keeping the same in good repair.

Ordered that George Corn, William Graves, William Cave Junior, and Cave Johnson or any three of them being first duly sworn before a Justice of the peach of this County do view and mark out best way from Bulletsburgh to the big bone Crik and report to Court the conveniences and inconveniences which will result as well to Individuals as to the public from the opening of the said intended Road.

The persons appointed to view and mark out a Road from the place where Henry Cloud formerly lived along by the meeting house also by Connor's Mill to intersect the road which is to lead from Bulletsburgh to big bone about the head of Sandy Lick Creek, reported that they had marked out a way for a Road agreeable to the direction contained in the order that they conceive the establishment of such a Road would be of public utility and would not injure any Individual except Elijah Hasley and that the proprietors of Lands through which the said Road will pass are James Marshall, Elijah Hasley, Baylis Ashley, Jane Cloud, John Conner Senior, George Gaines, Forest Webb, Lewis Johnson, Edmund Garnett, Thomas Whitaker and Edward Webb. And the Court being of the opinion that a Road as aforesaid would be convenient thereupon order that the Clerk issue summons to the aforesaid proprietors or their agents in the County to shew cause at the next Court if any they have why such Road should not be opened as aforesaid.

The persons appointed to view and mark out a road from Bulletsburgh to the big bone lick reported that they had marked out a road according to the directions contained in the order beginning at Bulletsburgh aforesaid thence through the lands of Cave Johnson to Sandy Lick Creek where William Bush lives. Thence up the creek through the lands of John Brown and Cave Johnson passing the said Johnson's mill. Thence up the right hand fork of the Creek thence turning up the left passing through the Lands of Thomas Whitaker, Samuel Horsely and William Montague, thence crossing the branches Woolpers Creek and passing through unsettled Lands to Gunpowder crossing just above the Forks thence taking a Buffaloe road which runs up a branch of gun powder and on a dividing ridge, continuing along said road tothe Lick and the Court being of the option that a road as aforesaid would be convenient thereupon order that the Clerk issue summons to the aforesaid Proprietor or their agents in the County to shew cause if any they have why such road should be not opened as aforesaid.

The report of the Viewers of the road leading from James Marshal's to intersect the road leading from Bulletsburgh to big bone is established with the following amendments viz. to have the road marked out about 1/4 of a mile from said Marshall's place thence along a leading ridge to Ashleys Fork of Woolper and up said fork to the Road marked out by the viewers. Edmund Garnet is appointed Surveyor of said road and to be attended by the hands of Captain Webb, Thomas Whitaker, Forrester Webb, his sons and sons in law and by Gain's settlement to open said road and Keep it in good repair as a waggon road.
