John Botts was born 8 July 1788 in Culpeper County Virginia, the son of Richard Botts and Margaret Putnam.  He married Frances Lawrence, of Virginia, 22 Apr 1817 in Mason Co KY.

 Catherine Armstrong was born 19 Mar 1835 in Georgetown Oh, the daughter of David and Mary Armstrong. She and Arthur were members of the 4 & 12 Mile Church in Carthage until they moved to Cincinnati. Arthur was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery. Catherine Botts died 8 Jan 1917 in Cincinnati and was buried in the Spring Grove Cemetery.
