Bernard Leroy Fenbers, 23, of 126 Ann street, Newport, has been
promoted to water tender first class in the US Naval Reserve, according to
dispatches from the Atlantic fleet, where he is serving aboard a destroyer. He
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fenbers, 726 Ann street, Newport, and was
employed by the Kroger Grocery & Baking Co. at 1034 Depot street, Cincinnati,
before enlisting in the Navy.
Mr. Fenbers is a graduate of St Stephen parochial and Newport Catholic High Schools. He wears the American Theater and Good Conduct ribbons.
