Ben Roth, 24 and Peter Roth, 23, sons of L Roth and wife of 816 Columbia st. Newport are at the front in France in the fight for world liberty. Both were wounded recently, according to word received by their parents, but now are on the road to recovery.
"I am enjoying good health and getting along fine and dandy." writes Ben Roth from Evacuation Hospital No 1 France. "The other day a friend of mine from Newport, who knows Pete, saw him at a classification camp and told me he is ok. I had been at the same classification camp before coming here. He also told me that Pete had been wounded but is enjoying good health again and has entirely recovered from his wound.
He was in the same drive I was in, only we were about four or five kilometers apart. My dear parents you have two sons in two of the best American divisions that are fighting over here, Peter in the First and myself in the Second Division. So you see you have something to be proud of."
