Infantry, a native of Rhode Island.

Died in Newport Ky. on the 4th ult. Captain Benjamin Watson of the 3rd Regiment U. S. Infantry, age 38, eldest son of Mr. Samuel Watson of this town. Capt. Watson has for some years past stationed at Green Bay, but was recently removed with his company from that station to one in the State of Missouri, and in consequence of ill health, obtained a furlough, and was on his way to his native place, when he died in Kentucky, at the house of Col. McKinney, which he had reached but a few days previous to his death, surrounded by his wife and children, and under the hospitable roof of a gallant officer.
