NEWPORT

DIED OF A FALL-Rev Father Beirman, Pastor of the Catholic Church at Alexandria, was killed by a fall out of the window of his study, on Sunday afternoon.  Telling some one of his flock to call him for services, he went to the parsonage.  He was afterward found lying on the ground at the south end of the building, and had apparently fallen out of the window in the gable end, a story and a half from the ground.

He was black in the fac, though still breathing, but died shortly afterward.  It is supposed that he was attacked with apoplexy and that the fall resulted there from.  The blackness of the face caused by apoplexy gave rise to the story that he had been poisoned, but there is no reason to think it had any other basis.

Father Beirman had been in the country about two years, was about thirty-five years of age, of a full habit and very heavily built.
