VETERAN PARALYZED
Barney Heine, 64, a veteran of the Civil War, suffered a stroke
of paralysis at his home, 411 West Tenth street, yesterday and for a time it was
feared that he would not recover. He was walking across the room at the time and
his right side became completely paralyzed.
He soon sank into a state of coma, despite the attention of physicians who were summoned. Bleeding was resorted to as a last recourse and this proved successful, for Heine soon rallied and at a late hour last night was much better with chances in favor of his recovery.
