Barbara grew up in John’s Hill area. She was a member of St John the Baptist Church in Wilder. She married twice. She first married Phillip Schweibold on Oct. 30, 1877 at St John the Baptist Church in Wilder. It was a double wedding with her brother Aloysius and Theresa Scherrer. Phillip had posted the marriage bond fees for both marriages. (Which was $100 per couple).

Phillip Schweibold was born in Germany in 1844. He emigrated in October 1871 on the ship Hermann that sailed from Bremen. He was 33 years old when he married Barbara. Phillip died in Oct. 1879 when Barbara was expecting their second child. It is unknown where Phillip was buried. There is a tombstone at St Stephen’s Cemetery in Ft Thomas with his name on it. The cemetery has no record of anyone buried in that grave. This stone is in Otto Federle’s family plot.
