August "Gus" Fox, 76, of 522 E Fourth st. Newport, died Monday at his home following an illness of 10 weeks, For many years Fox had conducted a candy store at Seventh and Patterson streets, Newport and was well known.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Carrie Fox; seven children, William Fox in the roofing business in Bellevue; John Fox, Cincinnati; Mrs. Andrew Sparka, Cincinnati; Mrs. Charles Bosch, Covington; Mrs. Charles Travers and Mrs. Ruth Blersch both of Ft Thomas and Sister Mary Edwardine of the sisters of Notre Dame; three step children, Miss Henrietta M Laudeman, connected with the John J Radel Co. Newport, undertakers; Mrs. Louis Schatolo, Ft Thomas, and Mrs. Charles Stagman and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday from the Radel funeral home, 822 York st. Newport with requiem high mass at 9 am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception Newport. Burial will be in the St Stephen Cemetery.
