FARMER DIES OF AUTO INJURIES

 

Arnold Orth, 34, farmer, of Brush Creek-rd, near Alexandria, who suffered a skull fracture Sunday when he was struck by an auto while riding a horse on Licking Pike 10 miles south of Newport, died late Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Covington.

According to Campbell-co police, the victim was riding one horse and leading another when they were struck by an auto driven by Benjamin Wagner, Poplar Thicket-rd, Campbell-co. Orth was hurled from the animal and his head struck the concrete roadway.  He was still unconscious when he was taken to the hospital.  The driver of the auto escaped injury, although his auto was damaged. Harry F. Donnelly, Kenton-co coroner, is investigating the accident.

The victim leaves his mother, Mrs. Margaret Orth; four brothers, George, Feidel, Albert and Lawrence Orth; and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Heringer and Miss Tillie Orth, all of Alexandria.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at the late residence, with requiem high mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Alexandria.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  Thorp & Stith, Alexandria undertakers, are in charge of the funeral.
