NEWPORT
Death yesterday, after weeks of suffering, relieved Mrs. Ann H
Shaler from the turmoil and sorrows of this earth. About noon after being
unconscious for twenty-four hours, she passed peacefully to her Maker.
The deceased ws in her seventy-fifth years and was a most estimable and charitable old lady. She was the wife of Dr. N B Shaler and was born and raised in this city.
She leaves three children to mourn her loss, Prof. N S Shaler at Howard University, Mrs. Colonel A S Berry and Miss Minnie Shaler. Prof. Shaler has been telegraphed and will arrive this morning.
