Anna Sprake was given a preliminary hearing yesterday afternoon in Squire Donelan's court, Newport, and was dismissed. She was arrested on a charge of bigamy, preferred by her alleged husband, John Sprake, but the testimony showed that Sprake had a wife, from whom he had never divorced, when he married the accused.
Squire Donelan held that his second marriage was not legal and ordered Mrs. Sprake released.
