NEWPORT
Mrs. Anna E Caldwell, 81, wife of James Caldwell, died yesterday
morning at the residence of Mrs. Ashbaugh, 620 Overton street, with whom she had
been residing, with her husband for some time. Mrs. Caldwell had been suffering
with broim?? stomach trouble and her death was not unexpected.
Her husband, who survives her is 91 years of age and is very feeble. They were married 60 years ago and have no children. Nearly all of their married life had been spent in Newport and they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary nine years ago at Grace M E Church.
The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from Grace M E Church.
While not altogether unexpected, Mrs. Caldwell's death was rather sudden, she being found dead in a chair.
