NEWPORT NEWS
FATAL CASUALTY-We are informed that a man named Andrew Smith,
while chopping wood on Taylor's Hill one day last week, was killed by the
falling of a tree. It appears that he was in the act of chopping down a
large tree which fell before the time he had calculated and smashed him to death
in its fall.
