Rupert Motz, 17, son of Andrew Motz, 17, son of Andrew Motz, 46

Third av. and Main st. dead in a pool of blood. He had cut his throat from ear
to ear with a razor. Motz has a wife and six children and had no quarrel with
this family. Mrs. Motz said to the Post: "He never gave any intimation of doing
such a thing. His business has been going down for some months and I think this
made him despondent."
His son, Rupert stated that his father had left his home 917 Third av. about 10 am yesterday and when he had not returned home he went to the barber shop and found his father dead. Squire Woodward of Bellevue, rendered a verdict of suicide. Motz has been in Dayton for 18 years and has been married 22 years.
Mrs. John Pilman, the eldest daughter is the only one married. Motz was well known in Dayton and a cousin of ex-Postmaster William Motz. His was never known to be morose or discouraged and the shock to the family is severe. No funeral arrangements have been made.
