Private Andrew Lieberman, Company B, died at the post hospital
late Thursday night. He had been suffering with appendicitis and an
operation was performed by Surgeon J C Worthington, assisted by Surgeons Wakeman
and Heyl. The patient rallied for a time, but gradually sank until death ensued.
Private Lieberman had been in the service for about two years and leaves a widow. The funeral will take place today at 1 pm and interment will be in the soldier's plot in Evergreen Cemetery.
The game of baseball which was to have taken place this afternoon at the fort has been canceled on account of the funeral of Private Lieberman.
