Submitted by Carol Sanman

Amalia "Mollie" was born on Oct. 28, 1844 to Moritz Klump (1822-1890) and Maria Anna Birk (1817-1870) in Moesbach, Baden. For more information on her parents and siblings look at Moritz Klump family. She was listed as Mollie in the 1860 census with her parents. Looks like she went by Amalia or Amelia.

Amalia emigrated from Baden to Newport, Kentucky in 1855 with her mother and siblings to join her father, who emigrated illegally in 1853. She grew up in Newport. She married twice. First she married August Müller or Miller around 1866. August was born about 1840 in Bavaria to John (Johan) Müller/Miller and Elizabeth. He was a tavern keeper in Cold Spring. He died Dec. 30, 1874 in Newport. August is buried in his family plot in section 8 at St Stephen Cemetery in Ft Thomas.
