Alvin Oscar Pattee was born 20 Feb 1838 in Smithfield, Somerset,
Maine, the son of Joseph Pattee and Azubu Wade Osborn. He married Eliza Evans 31
October 1858 in Newport Ky. Eliza was born 29 April 1838 in Ireland.

Alvin and Eliza are listed in the 1860 Census in Newport where he was working as a butcher. When the Civil War started, he enrolled 18 Sep 1861 and mustered in 8 Dec 1861 at Camp King Ky. as a 1st Sergeant in the 23rd Kentucky Infantry Company F. He enrolled 28 May 1863 in Manchester Tenn. and resigned 25 July 1863. He reenlisted and was promoted to Full Sergeant Major on 15 Aug 1862.
Pattee's unit fought on 5 Aug 1862 at Murfreesboro, TN. Fought on 10 Aug 1862. Fought on 31 Dec 1862 at Stones River, TN. Fought on 2 Jan 1863 at Stones River, TN. Fought on 2 Jan 1863 at Murfreesboro, TN. He mustered out 25 July 1863.

Alvin died 17 Nov 1865 in Covington and was buried there. Elizabeth had him moved to her plot 15 Sep 1884 at Evergreen Cemetery. She had bought a plot when her son George died. She is also buried there.
