GRIEF STRICKEN-Grief
over the loss of her son, a few days ago, hastened the death of Mrs. Samuel
Prather, of 15 West Fifth Street, Newport, Wednesday. She had been ill but a
short time with pneumonia. Her son, Pierce (sic) Prather, who was devotedly
attached to his mother and looked after her every want, died suddenly last
Thursday.
His death was a terrible blow to the mother, as well a the rest of the family. Following his burial, the mother became ill and in less than four days passed away. She was the wife of Samuel Prather, manager of the United States Express Office on York Street, Newport.
