Allen Earl Rainey

Two Northern Kentuckians were recently commissioned second lieutenants and received the silver wings of the Air Force bombardier at exercises at the Big Spring Bombardier School, Big Spring Tex. Lt. Allen E Rainey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Strother Rainey, Alexandria, and Lt. Leo J Trauth Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. L J Trauth, 1028 Hamlet Street, Newport, were among the graduates.

Lt. Rainey attended Campbell County High School and Utilities Engieering Institute, Chicago and Lt. Trauth attended Covington Latin School before entering the service.

With his proud parents an admiring audience with his best girl pinned on his silver wings, newly commissioned 2 St. A E Rainey of Alexandria grinned broadly over his gold bars, received at recent graduation ceremonies at the Big Spring Bombardier School, Tex. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Strother Rainey, Route 1, Alexandria, Lt. Rainey is a graduate of Campbell County High School.

He also attended the Utilities Engineering Institute in Chicago and was employed by the Wright Aeronautical Corp. Lockland O. prior to his enlistment. His friend, Miss Mary K Johnson, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W M Johnson, Kings Highway, Shreveport, La.
