Henry William Rand was born 5 Aug 1836 in
Virginia, the son of Christopher Columbus Rand and Nancy M. During the Civil War
he joined the 22nd Regiment Virginia Infantry for the Confederate Army. He
enlisted 25 Apr 1861 and mustered out 12 Apr 1865. Henry fought on 25 June 1861
at Jackson County, WV, 17 July 1861 at Scarey Creek, WV, 26 Aug 1861 at Cross
Lanes, WV, 10 Sep 1861 at Carifax Ferry, WV, 20 Sep 1861 at Cross Lanes, WV, 11
Oct 1861 at Nicholas County, WV, 15 Oct 1861 at Locust Lane, WV, 23 Jan 1862 at
Jenkins River, VA, 5 Feb 1862 at Logan County, WV, 26 Feb 1862 at Mud River,
Putnam Co, WV, 28 Feb 1862 at Nicholas County, WV, 14 Mar 1862 at Wyoming Court
House, WV, 10 May 1862 at Giles Court House, VA, 17 May 1862 at Alleghany, VA,
