Alice Howard

Cincinnati Commercial Tribune, Tuesday, 27 March 1883, page 8

About eight months ago Alice Howard, a noted female thief got into the residence of Dr. Bennett, on Monmouth street, Newport and carried off a quantity of clothing and some valuable jewelry. She was arrested at the time and received a sentence and imprisonment in the jail.

Through some fortunate circumstances she made her escape shortly after and was missing until yesterday morning, when she was found by Officer Fred Miller roaming around the streets much the worse for too much whisky. She was placed in jail and will now have to serve out the old sentence.
