Alfred Maybury, Campbell co. magistrate, Friday refused to comment on his intention in regard to a "blue" Easter. The magistrate stated he would close everything but restaurants, drug stores, physicians offices and undertakers. Maybury declined to talk, but referred questioners to "that section of the statutes which refers to the blue law."

Excitement at the Ft Thomas bouts Thursday night is believed to have been instrumental in causing the death of Charles Francis McDermott, 61, building contractor of 65 Blue Grass av. Ft Thomas, Friday. Alfred Maybury, acting Campbell County coroner, returned a verdict that McDermott died of heart trouble. McDermott became nervous while watching the bouts and his heart was affected.

When George Harris and William Brown, Negroes, of Cincinnati, faced Judge Alfred G Maybury in Newport Police Court on disorderly conduct charges they displayed their World War veterans emblems in a conspicous manner. Judge Maybury, a World War veteran repremanded them, telling them it was "alright to fight for their country but not with their countrymen.

Judge Alfred G Maybury declared Tuesday in Newport Police Court when he imposed a $50 and costs fine and a 30 day jail sentence on M F Hall, veteran of the Dayton O. Soldiers Home.

Failing to appear Tuesday in Newport Police Court to answer a breach of the peace charge, Mrs. Helen Katiff, Nelson Place, Newport, was tried in her absence and was fined $25 and costs and sentenced to 15 days in jail by Judge Alfred G Maybury. The court then issed a capias for her arrest and a commitment to jail.

In a scathing denunication of City Manager Oscar Hesch and City Commissioner James E Deckert, Newport Police Judge Alfred G Maybury declared from his court bench Friday that "Mr. Hesch is owned body and sole by the Cleveland syndicate." Judge Maybury made his bitter attack in a his hearing of a bingo charge against Peter Schmidt, who was arrested Thursday night by Detective Chief Leroy Fredericks, when the latter and his son, Glenn Schmidt operators of the Glenn Schmidt Playtorium, E Fifth street, attempted to conduct a charity bingo for the benefit of Speers Hospital.
