Kentucky Post, Wednesday, 3 July 1895, page 6

The regular examination of pupils for graduates from the common schools of Campbell County were held at Alexandria Thursday and Friday by the regular Board of Examiners. Of a numerous class but 12 succeeded in passing with high averages.

The most notable is Miss Edith Gasney (sic) the beautiful and accomplished daughter of Deputy Clerk Thomas Gasney, and youngest graduated Campbell County has ever had, received the highest average of any pupil who has ever graduated from the Campbell County schools. Our genial Clerk is to be congratulated upon possession of such a remarkable daughter as Miss Edith.

She will attend the summer term at the Alexandria Normal Academy and will receive instructions from Prof. B L Frye, on of the best teachers in the state.
